Extended Access

Several Extended Access clinics are available:

We offer an extended access service which is available from 8am – 2pm on Saturdays.

The Service is available to patients within the Cross Gates PCN Practices, this includes; Colton Mill & The Grange Medical Centre, Ashfield & The Grange, Family Doctors and Manston Surgery.

To access the services patients can call their GP practice telephone number within the above time frames for on the day appointments, and they will be re-directed to the HUB. 

To pre-book appointments patients can contact their own GP Practice within their usual working hours. 

These clinics are held at Colton Mill Medical Centre – Stile hill way, Colton, Leeds LS15 9JH.

The service is delivered by the Leeds GP Confederation on behalf of Cross Gates Primary Care Network.
GP appointments (both telephone and face-to-face) are available to book in advance and on the day. 

To pre-book an appointment, contact your GP Practice within their usual working hours. 

To book an appointment on the day, contact your GP practice to be transferred to our service between the following hours 8am – 2pm on Saturdays.
We offer appointments on a weekend for:
– BP checks
– Blood tests
– NHS Health Checks
– Diabetic Reviews
– COPD Reviews
– Asthma Reviews

To pre-book an appointment, please contact your GP Surgery.

A clinician must have requested your blood test before you book your appointment to ensure the results can go back to the right GP for follow up. 
NHS Health Checks are available for patients aged 40-74 who have no pre-existing medical conditions. Please check that you are eligible or have been invited before arranging an appointment.

Clinics are held at Colton Mill Medical Centre Hub between 8am – 2pm on Saturdays.
Cervical Smear‘s are available for all women between the ages of 25 and 64. You’ll get a letter in the post inviting you to make an appointment. 

We can only offer a smear test every 3 years for women aged 25-49 and every 5 years for women aged 49-64. 

To pre-book an appointment, contact your own GP Surgery to arrange this. 

Smear clinics are available 8am – 2pm on Saturdays.

If you are on your period, pregnant or been pregnant within the last 12 weeks, we are unable to take smear test. This is because the result may be inadequate. 

Trans men and non-binary people who have had a total hysterectomy to remove their cervix do not need cervical screening. Trans men and non-binary people who still have a cervix should have cervical screening to help prevent cervical cancer.
Contraceptive Clinics are available for implants and coils fitting or removing only. Patients will be booked for a GP telephone assessment first and then an appointment will be arranged for you to have the procedure on another day. 

To pre-book an assessment appointment, please contact your own GP surgery. You may be added to a waiting list if all our clinics are full. 

Clinics are held on 8am – 2pm on Saturdays at Colton Mill Medical Centre Hub.
Medication reviews are available with a pharmacist, there are telephone appointments only and available Monday – Friday 6.30-8pm and Saturday 2 – 5pm.
